About this trip
Eight days along the Karakoram Highway into Hunza, the valley some call Shangri-la, following the Indus and Gilgit rivers north through some of Pakistan's most dramatic mountain scenery.
You base yourself in Karimabad, the heart of Hunza, and use it to explore the surrounding villages and valleys on foot and by road, meeting communities who speak Burushaski, Wakhi and Shina.
The trip pushes right up to the Khunjerab Pass on the Chinese border, and takes in Hunza's seasonal colours along the way, whether that's spring apricot blossom, summer greenery or golden autumn poplars.
