About this trip
A short, self-guided stop in El Calafate for when you only have a couple of days to spare but still want to see Patagonia properly. It's built for travellers passing through on their way to El Chalten or over the border to Chile.
The centrepiece is the Perito Moreno Glacier, a wall of ice that cracks and groans as it shifts. Beyond that, you get a taste of the turquoise lakes and dark forests that make this part of Argentina distinctive, without committing a big chunk of your itinerary to it.
What you'll do
- See the Perito Moreno Glacier up close as it cracks and moves
- Take in El Calafate's turquoise lakes and surrounding mountains
- Use it as a flexible stopover en route to El Chalten or Chile
- Self-guided and private, not a group tour — you move at your own pace
- Easy going and suited to all fitness levels, ages 3 to 99
- Runs all year round, including over Christmas and New Year
