About this trip
Nine days moving through Egypt's ancient core, from the Giza plateau to the temples of Luxor and Aswan, finishing with downtime on the Red Sea. This covers the big-ticket sites in one go, with a Nile cruise doing the heavy lifting between Luxor and Aswan.
You start in Cairo with the Great Pyramid, the Sphinx, and the newly opened Grand Egyptian Museum, then fly or travel south to board a deluxe cruiser for three nights on the Nile. Days here are packed with temple visits as you sail between Luxor and Aswan.
The trip closes with a stretch in Hurghada, giving you a few easy days by the Red Sea after a fairly full-on run of sightseeing. Accommodation throughout is 5-star.

Worth it if you want hassle-free ancient Egypt with proper guides and good value accommodation. Think twice if you need flexibility on hotel locations or prefer guides who stick closely to groups.
- Guide quality is genuinely exceptional—Ahmed, Abdul, Tamer consistently praised for balancing instruction with space to explore independently.
- Nile cruise and sleeper train are the real highlights; spacious cabins, excellent food, and temples from the water make it genuinely special.
- Hotel locations in Hurghada not confirmed until late; one group stayed 40 mins from town, paying extra for excursion pickups they hadn't budgeted.
- Very early starts for Abu Simbel and flights to Aswan are standard; sleeper train carriages are dated 1960s condition but entirely functional.
