About this trip
A quick, fast-moving dash along South Africa's Garden Route, covering a lot of ground in just three days. You'll cover around 1300km, so expect several hours on the road daily between stops.
The safari side takes you into a malaria-free private game reserve, where you search for the Big 5 from an open 4x4 and on foot with a walking safari. Beyond that, the route takes in classic Garden Route adventure stops.
This suits travellers who want a taste of the coast and the bush without much time to spare, rather than those wanting to linger in any one place.
What you'll do
- Search for the Big 5 on an open 4x4 game drive in a private reserve
- Join an included walking safari on foot
- Explore underground at the Cango Caves
- Canoe on the water at Wilderness
- Option to bungy jump along the way
- Fast-paced — long travel days of 4 to 6 hours are normal, covering around 1300km in total
- You'll share the safari drives with other groups at the reserve, and sightings aren't guaranteed
- Not suitable for children under 10; those 10-17 must travel with an adult
Worth it if you want varied activities and knowledgeable guides. Think twice if you prefer slower pacing or need decent shower facilities.
- Guides consistently praised for knowledge, safety, humour—Big G, Gerhard, Denver, TK all named as standouts.
- Excellent activity variety: elephants, bungee, safari, caves all covered in three days with seamless logistics.
- Budget option comes with shared facilities—one shower for six people. Luxury upgrade available but costs more.
- Fast-paced itinerary means limited downtime; consider the 5-day version if you prefer less driving and rushing.
