About this trip
Four cities, one train line: this is a self-guided journey through Hungary, Slovenia and Austria, with the planning and logistics sorted so you can just follow the route. Budapest, Ljubljana (with a stop at Lake Bled), Salzburg and Vienna, each given proper time rather than a rushed night or two.
You're travelling privately, just your own group, moving between destinations by rail through some of Central Europe's more scenic mountain and river corridors. The pace is easy — three days in Budapest, three in Ljubljana, two in Salzburg, three in Vienna — so there's room to actually settle into each place.
