About this trip
Seventeen days overland through Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, moving between alpine lakes, mountain passes and Silk Road cities, with yurt stays and local homes breaking up the journey.
You'll spend real time away from cities on this one — riverside picnics, village cooking, and roads that only a small group vehicle can manage. Balanced against that are the historic set-pieces: Samarkand's blue-tiled madrassas and the Registan, and the Sogdian ruins at Panjakent.
