About this trip
A 16-day route through Thailand that takes in both ends of the country, from Bangkok's temples to the mountains around Phitsanulok, then down to the beaches and islands of the south. It's a broad introduction that mixes cities, rural villages, ruins, and coastline rather than settling into one region.
Along the way you'll walk with elephants, eat home-cooked meals in local villages, and end up on the southern coast with time to swim, snorkel, or just slow down on the beach.
One night is spent on the overnight train from Bangkok to Surat Thani, travelling in soft sleeper class with air-conditioned multishare compartments, bunk beds, and sheets and a pillow provided.
What you'll do

- Covers a lot of ground north to south, so expect a fair amount of travel time between stops
