About this trip
Eighteen days that cover both ends of Thailand, from Bangkok's canals and temples down to the islands, then up to the hills and jungle around Chiang Mai. It's a proper mix of city, coast and countryside, with a group leader running the logistics so you can just get on with it.
Expect a lot of variety: a night in floating bungalows surrounded by rainforest, island time with snorkelling and boat trips, a full moon party, and a Muay Thai session and Thai massage thrown in. The pace shifts from beach downtime to more active jungle trekking in the north.
In Chiang Mai you'll head out to hill tribe villages and spend a day at an elephant sanctuary, before the tour wraps up with help sorting onward travel.
What you'll do
- Explore Bangkok by boat and tuk tuk, taking in temples and canals
- Sleep in floating bungalows in the rainforest
- Cruise and snorkel around the Phi Phi Islands
- Try a Muay Thai session and a traditional Thai massage
- Party on Koh Phangan's full moon beach
- Trek through jungle near Chiang Mai and visit local hill tribes
- Covers a lot of ground — south to north Thailand in 18 days, so expect regular moves between destinations
- Mixes beach and party time with more active jungle trekking, so pace and style vary through the trip
Worth it if you want a well-organised first solo trip with genuinely excellent group leaders. Think twice if you're over 30, prefer comfort, or dislike late-night partying and budget dorms.
- Tour leaders consistently go above and beyond—actively ensuring no one feels left out and creating positive group atmosphere.
- 18-day option gives genuine flexibility; one reviewer upgraded from 12 days after first few days of non-stop memorable moments.
- Heavily geared toward teenagers and early 20s party scene; budget accommodation, late-night events, limited free time despite advertised 40+ inclusion.
- Budget transport options mean uncomfortable journeys for long periods; accommodation is 2-star or less throughout trip.
