About this trip
Six days aboard a small cruise boat through the southern Galapagos islands, covering a good stretch of wildlife and scenery in a short window. It's a compact, active introduction to the archipelago rather than a deep dive, and works well tacked onto a longer South America trip.
Expect close encounters with sea lions, flamingos and marine life, plus hikes and snorkelling stops as you move between islands. Days are full and centred around getting out on the water and onto the islands themselves.
What you'll do
- Spot pink flamingos in the lagoons of Isla Floreana
- Sunbathe alongside sea lions on Gardner Beach
- Hike the green shoreline of Punta Cormorant
- Snorkel the clear waters around the archipelago
- An active trip — you'll need to be comfortable moving around the boat, including steep steps between decks
- Zodiac (panga) boats are used for wet and dry landings at smaller islets and coves, so some climbing in and out of boats is involved
- Itinerary can shift with weather or local authority guidance, so flexibility helps
