Newfoundland Adventure: Eastbound

Newfoundland's coastline doesn't get the attention it deserves, and this eight-day trip takes you along its north-easterly edge, past fjords, cliffs and small towns that have weathered thousands of years of Atlantic weather.

You'll travel with a knowledgeable leader who knows the area, stopping into historic towns and meeting locals along the way, with the landscape itself doing most of the talking.

The pace is easy rather than strenuous — there's a moderate amount of walking built into the included activities, but no serious fitness required.

• Go whale watching off the Newfoundland coast
• Spot puffins at one of North America's best viewing sites
• Explore fjords and coastline shaped by thousands of years of erosion
• Visit historic towns and meet local residents along the route
