Aurora Borealis Adventure from Vancouver

Start & end in Vancouver 4 days Up to 30

About this trip

Four days based in Whitehorse, with your evenings given over to chasing the Northern Lights. By day you're free to explore the city and take on optional outdoor adventures, and by night you're driven out past the city lights to a cabin or wall tent set up for clear, unobstructed sky views.

You get three separate nights out under the aurora, with a fire and hot drinks while you wait for the show to start. When it comes, it's the real thing — a green sheen rippling and arcing across the sky.

A guided city tour of Whitehorse is included, and the rest of your daytime is yours to fill with optional extras depending on the season.

What you'll do

  • Guided tour of Whitehorse
  • Three nights out watching for the Aurora Borealis from a cabin or wall tent
  • Optional ice fishing, snowshoeing or dogsledding in winter
  • Optional hiking and fishing in the warmer months
  • Stay centrally located in Whitehorse throughout
Good to know
  • Aurora viewing depends on clear skies and solar activity, so nothing is guaranteed on any single night
  • Daytime activities like dogsledding or ice fishing are optional add-ons, not included in the base trip
  • Easy pace overall — you're based in one hotel for all four days
What travellers actually say

Worth it if you value expert guides and slick logistics. Think twice if seeing the Aurora is your only goal—weather luck matters as much as their skill.

  • Guides (Becky, Pablo, Steve, Jordan) genuinely excel at camera tips, fire-pit warmth and making nights fun even without Aurora.
  • Airport pickup, hotel office location, maintained cabins and all equipment provided make the whole operation seamless and stress-free.
  • Group size varies wildly night-to-night; small first night felt personal, huge second night felt less intimate despite same price.
  • Hotel WiFi weak but town and tour areas have decent cellular; aurora visibility depends on weather, not tour quality.
