About this trip
This trip takes you from the temples of Siem Reap down through Phnom Penh and along the Mekong into southern Vietnam, ending in Ho Chi Minh City. It's a route that mixes ancient history, recent history, and everyday river life in one stretch.
You start with Angkor Wat and its surrounding temples, then move to Phnom Penh to take in the Royal Palace alongside the Genocide Museum and Killing Fields. From there the journey shifts pace, following the Mekong by boat across the border into Vietnam.
The second half is more about landscape and local life — floating markets, riverside villages, a temple visited by locals rather than tour buses — before the city energy of Ho Chi Minh City closes things out.
What you'll do
- Explore Angkor Wat, Bayon and Ta Prohm in Siem Reap
- Visit the Royal Palace, Silver Pagoda, Tuol Sleng Museum and the Killing Fields in Phnom Penh

- Visit Ba Chua Xu Temple in Chau Doc

- Finish with the War Remnants Museum and Notre-Dame Cathedral Basilica in Ho Chi Minh City
- Covers two countries and several cities in 7 days, so travel days are part of the experience

- Suits those who want a broad overview of the region rather than lingering in one place
Worth it if you value seamless logistics and knowledgeable guides. Think twice if you need flexibility—the schedule sticks rigidly to advertised itineraries.
- Guides speak good English, provide genuine local tips, and drivers handle traffic safely with reliable baggage help throughout.
- Punctuality is consistent: no waiting for buses, guides, or transfers; toilet and meal stops planned courteously in advance.
- Hotel quality across the tour is genuinely comfortable and well-located; luxury upgrades available at reasonable prices.
- Tour sticks to advertised schedule and sights strictly; limited room for spontaneous detours or personal preference changes mid-trip.
