About this trip
Fourteen days that cover a lot of Thailand's greatest hits, from Bangkok's temples to the northern hills and down to the Andaman coast. It's a well-worn route but a genuinely varied one, mixing history, food, mountains and islands rather than settling on just one.
You start in Bangkok with a tuk-tuk tour of the city, then head out to Kanchanaburi and Ayutthaya for a dose of Thai history. From there it's north to Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai for cooking, temples and hill country, before flying south to Krabi for boat trips around the Andaman Sea's islands.
This suits you if you want a broad first look at Thailand — culture, food, mountains and beaches all in one trip — with the logistics of flights, transfers and entrance fees sorted for you.
What you'll do
- Tour Bangkok's Grand Palace, Wat Pho and Wat Arun by tuk-tuk
- Visit the Bridge over the River Kwai in Kanchanaburi and the ancient ruins of Ayutthaya
- Take a Thai cooking class in Chiang Mai, starting with a market shop
- See the White Temple and the Golden Triangle in Chiang Rai
- Snorkel and island-hop around Phi Phi by speedboat
- Explore Krabi's Emerald Pool and Chicken Island by longtail boat
- Covers a lot of ground — north, central and south Thailand in one trip, with an internal flight to Krabi
- Pace is steady rather than slow, with a new region roughly every few days
- Includes sightseeing, entrance fees and transfers throughout
Worth it if you want hassle-free logistics and knowledgeable guides across Thailand's highlights. Think twice if you're picky about every hotel or dislike tight schedules in Chiang Mai.
- Guides consistently excellent—Omi, Icky, Kiki praised for knowledge and cultural insight throughout.
- Organisation flawless: guides and drivers waiting on time, fast email responses, smooth airport transfers.
- Some 3-star hotels disappointing—worn decor, basic amenities; Bangkok stopover flight split causes late arrival.
- Chiang Mai schedule felt hectic; reviewers suggested two days there, one day in Chiang Rai instead.
