About this trip
Sixteen days across Thailand and Vietnam, moving from temples and palaces to mountain towns, cruise waters, ancient streets and delta countryside. It's a broad sweep of two countries rather than a deep dive into one.
You start in Bangkok, then head north to the hills around Chiang Mai before crossing into Vietnam for Halong Bay, Hoi An, Hue and Ho Chi Minh City, finishing with a trip out to the Mekong Delta.
Expect a mix of guided sightseeing and free time, with cities, coast and countryside all in the mix — a good option if you want a wide introduction to both places rather than settling into one region.
What you'll do
- Visit Bangkok's temples and Grand Palace
- Take in mountain scenery around Chiang Mai
- Cruise Halong Bay
- Wander the old streets of Hoi An
- Explore Hue's historic sites by cyclo
- Head into the Mekong Delta from Ho Chi Minh City
- Covers two countries in 16 days, so expect a fair amount of moving on
- Partially guided, with some periods of free time built in
Worth it if you want seamless logistics, quality guides, and a balanced pace across two countries. Think twice if hotel cleanliness standards matter deeply to you.
- Tour coordinators (Long Pham, Chris Tran) proactively managed daily updates, met you in person, and fixed issues like flight errors and missing drivers instantly.
- Guides across all cities were knowledgeable and genuinely engaging, bringing history alive at Hoa Lu, Cu Chi Tunnels, and local street food spots.
- A couple of hotels were noticeably dirty, undermining comfort on an otherwise polished trip; cleanliness checks needed.
- Sixteen days felt well-paced without rushing; includes internal flights, transfers, most meals, and flexible free time to explore independently.
