About this trip

This 17-day route runs overland through three countries, starting in Thailand and finishing in Hanoi, with a mix of temples, cities and a Mekong River crossing into Vietnam along the way.

You'll take in Ayutthaya's ruins, the Angkor temples at Siem Reap, and Cambodia's royal history before the journey shifts to boats and river life as you cross into Vietnam via the Mekong Delta. From there it's on to Hoi An's old town, the limestone scenery of Ninh Binh and Halong Bay, ending in Hanoi.

It's a partially guided trip, so days combine organised sightseeing with stretches of free time to explore on your own, giving you some flexibility within a fairly packed route.
