About this trip
Two weeks running the length of Vietnam, from Hanoi in the north down to Ho Chi Minh City in the south, taking in the country's history, food and landscapes along the way. It's a fully guided group tour built for travellers who want a broad overview rather than a slow, deep dive into one region.
Expect a mix of cities, imperial history, war history and coastal scenery — Hanoi, Halong Bay, Hoi An, Hue and Ho Chi Minh City all feature, with an internal flight linking the north and centre of the country.
The pace is brisk, with a different major sight or destination most days, so it suits people wanting to cover a lot of ground and get a real sense of Vietnam's variety in a fixed window of time.
What you'll do
- Overnight cruise through Halong Bay's limestone cliffs and caves, with a seafood dinner on board
- Wander the old streets and markets of Hoi An's UNESCO-listed ancient town
- Cable car up to the Golden Bridge and gardens at Ba Na Hills
- Explore Hue's Imperial Citadel, royal tombs and Thien Mu Pagoda
- Crawl through the Cu Chi Tunnels and learn how the Viet Cong lived and fought underground
- Boat trip through the Mekong Delta, visiting river villages and markets
- Fast-paced — a new major sight or city most days across the 14 days
- Includes at least one internal flight, between Hanoi and Hoi An
- Fully guided throughout, suited to those who'd rather not plan logistics themselves
Worth it if you value seamless logistics and guide quality varies. Think twice if you need a tight-knit group or pristine hotels.
- Danny's team handles logistics brilliantly: flexible adjustments, accessible support, airport pickups, hotels all sorted.
- Guide quality is inconsistent: some excellent and proactive, others struggle with English or lack depth.
- Hotels described as tired, small, old, and in need of renovation; overnight train basic with poor toilets.
- You'll travel with rotating groups rather than one cohort; good for meeting people, less for group bonding.
