About this trip
Nine days from Marrakech taking in Morocco's imperial cities, mountains and desert in one loop. You move through souks and historic quarters, over the Atlas Mountains, and out into the Sahara.
The route mixes proper sightseeing (palaces, gardens, Roman ruins) with a night in a desert camp, riding camels out to it and sleeping under canvas. Chefchaouen's blue lanes and the Todra Gorges break up the driving with some striking landscape stops.
It's a well-rounded first look at Morocco — cities, Berber culture, mountains and dunes — rather than a deep dive into any one region.
