About this trip
Two very different trips in one: several days moving through Tamil Nadu's temple towns, then a switch to the beaches of the Andaman Islands. You start in Chennai and work through Kanchipuram, Tiruvannamalai, Trichy, Madurai and Tanjore, taking in some of South India's most significant temples and architecture along the way.
Pondicherry adds a change of pace with its French colonial quarter, and Mahabalipuram brings coastal temples and rock carvings before you loop back to Chennai.
From there it's on to Havelock Island for the second half of the trip — days built around Radhanagar Beach and snorkelling off Elephanta Beach, with time simply left free to enjoy the setting.
