About this trip
Eight days moving through Sri Lanka's cultural heartland and hill country, starting and finishing in Colombo. You take in ancient cities, cave temples and a hilltop fortress, then swap history for wildlife on safari before ending with a look at Colombo itself.
The middle stretch slows down a little in Kandy and the hills, with temple visits, a tea factory and a scenic train ride through plantation country. Udawalawe National Park brings elephants and other wildlife into the mix before you head back to the coast.
