About this trip
Eight days across Morocco's imperial cities, starting in Casablanca and ending in Marrakech, with a fully guided group moving between some of the country's most historically loaded places.
You'll take in Roman ruins, walled medieval cities and the mountain town of Chefchaouen with its blue-washed streets, covering a lot of ground without having to organise any of it yourself.
This is an easy-paced culture and history trip, well suited to over the Christmas and New Year period if you fancy being somewhere different for it.
What you'll do
- Wander the Roman ruins at Volubilis
- Explore the imperial city of Fes
- Visit Rabat, Morocco's capital
- Walk the blue-painted lanes of Chefchaouen
- Spend time in the Rif Mountains
- Finish up exploring Marrakech
- Fully guided throughout, so logistics are handled for you
- Rated easy, so no strenuous activity involved
- You change location several times, moving through multiple cities in the eight days
Worth it if you're comfortable with long driving days and want Morocco's highlights efficiently covered. Think twice if you need leisurely pacing or guarantee of seeing every listed attraction.
- Guides like Hicham and Omar are genuinely exceptional—knowledgeable, patient, and arrange stops on 6-7 hour drives without being asked.
- Eight days packs five major cities with substantial driving; exhausting for some, though guides do allow flexibility for shorter walks.
- Hotels are centrally located but basic; restaurant quality varies wildly, especially in mountain areas where options are thin.
- Some listed attractions like God's Bridge at Talassemtane won't happen due to logistics; bring snacks and accept you'll miss some sites.
