About this trip
Twelve days across Morocco with the whole family, from the red city of Marrakech to the dunes of the Sahara and the Atlantic coast at Essaouira. Built with children aged 5 and up in mind, it mixes history, mountains and a proper night out under the stars.
You'll take in the High Atlas mountains and the UNESCO-listed kasbah of Ait Benhaddou before heading into the desert for a night in a Berber camp. The pace winds down at the end with some easy time by the sea in laid-back Essaouira.
What you'll do
- Explore the old city of Marrakech
- Visit the UNESCO-listed kasbah at Ait Benhaddou
- Cross the High Atlas mountains
- Spend a night under the stars at a Berber desert camp
- Unwind by the Atlantic coast in Essaouira
- Designed for families with children aged 5 and over
- Covers a lot of ground, from desert to coast, so expect a fair amount of driving between stops
Worth it if you want excellent guides, genuine cultural immersion, and don't mind a relentless pace. Think twice if you want more than one night in the Sahara.
- Guides consistently named as standout—Aissa, Alhousaine, Brahim praised for knowledge, warmth, professionalism and humour.
- Berber cultural experiences and desert camping genuinely memorable; food and Marrakech's energy leave lasting impression.
- Sahara stay is just one night with 4pm arrival; reviewers wanted more time to absorb the desert.
- Itinerary is busy but manageable with pockets of downtime; Marrakech square hectic and intense every night.
