About this trip
A 4-day coach tour out of Edinburgh that traces the filming locations and history behind Outlander, mixing TV nostalgia with genuine Scottish landmarks.
You'll see the castles and villages used as Castle Leoch, Lallybroch and other key settings, alongside sites like Culloden Battlefield and Clava Cairns that carry their own weight in Scottish history.
The route also takes in Highland scenery around Loch Ness and Glen Affric, so there's substance here even if you've never watched the show.
What you'll do
- Visit Doune Castle, used as Castle Leoch
- Walk Culloden Battlefield and see the Clava Cairns
- Explore the villages of Falkland and Culross
- See Midhope Castle, Jamie's Lallybroch, and Blackness Castle
- Tour Hopetoun House
- Take in Glencoe, Glenfinnan, Loch Ness and Glen Affric
- Coach-based sightseeing with an easy pace, suited to those happy to view sites from set stops rather than active exploring
- Strong pull for Outlander fans, but the historical sites (Culloden, Clava Cairns) stand on their own
