About this trip
Eleven days across Sicily and Malta, covering ancient ruins, Baroque towns, and a live volcano, with a proper island-hop thrown in. Fully guided, so someone else handles the logistics while you get on with the sightseeing.
You start in Catania and work your way through Syracuse's ruins, the temples at Agrigento, and the honey-coloured Baroque streets of Ragusa and Modica, before climbing Mount Etna for the views. Along the way there's Sicilian wine, chocolate, and honey to try, and time to sit with the local hospitality rather than rush through it.
The second half moves to Malta, taking in Valletta, the fishing village of Marsaxlokk, and a boat trip out to the Blue Grotto. It suits anyone who wants their history and their beaches in the same trip, without having to plan either.
