Stonehenge, Devon & Cornwall

Start & end in London 5 days Up to 16

About this trip

Five days out of London through the south west of England, mixing prehistoric monuments with coastline that earns its reputation. You go from Winchester's cathedral city calm to the standing stones of Stonehenge, then west into Devon and Cornwall proper.

This is a lot of ground covered easily, with fishing villages, cliffside castles, and open moorland doing the work rather than crowded museums. Cornwall gets real time — Tintagel, Port Isaac, Boscastle, and the far western tip at Land's End all feature.

It ends with Glastonbury before heading back to London, so you get myth and legend bookending the trip as well as running through the middle of it.

What travellers actually say

Worth it if you value a knowledgeable, personable guide navigating narrow roads and curating unexpected spots. Think twice if you need consistently high-standard accommodation.

  • Driver-guides are genuinely exceptional: learn your names within 24 hours, handle tricky Devon/Cornwall roads with ease.
  • Itinerary balances longer travel days with shorter exploration days, hitting unexpected sites you'd miss solo.
  • Guest house quality varies noticeably; some are sub-par despite convenient locations. Hotel upgrade worth considering.
  • Well-organized trips with friendly, responsive admin team; sites and locations consistently well-chosen.
