About this trip
Thirteen days across Japan, moving from the neon scale of Tokyo through the mountain town of Takayama and on to the history of Hiroshima and Kyoto. It is a proper cross-country route, mixing big cities with quieter, older places.
Expect a mix of famous landmarks and more grounded local experiences, from castle walls to a night in a traditional ryokan. Travel between cities is by bullet train, which is an experience in itself.
This suits you if you want a broad first look at Japan, covering both the modern and the historic sides, without settling in one place too long.
