About this trip
Eleven days across China, moving from Beijing's imperial monuments through Xi'an's ancient sites to the strange peaks of Zhangjiajie, finishing in Shanghai. It's a proper introduction to the country's scale and range, from dynastic history to landscapes that look almost unreal.
Expect a mix of guided city sightseeing and time to explore places like the Great Wall and Yu Garden at your own pace. The Zhangjiajie stretch is the standout, with glass bridges and skywalks strung across cliffs and forest that inspired the look of Avatar.
