About this trip
This 13-day trip runs through Patagonia's southern tip, starting in Ushuaia and finishing in El Chaltén, with a border crossing into Chile along the way. It's built around a handful of proper hiking days, so you'll want reasonable fitness and comfortable boots.
The route takes in the Beagle Channel, the Strait of Magellan, Torres del Paine and the Perito Moreno Glacier before ending in Argentina's hiking capital. Expect long days outdoors and big, open landscapes rather than city time.
What you'll do
- Cruise the Beagle Channel out of Ushuaia
- Kayak the Strait of Magellan
- Trek to the Base de las Torres viewpoint in Torres del Paine
- See the Perito Moreno Glacier up close
- Hike to Laguna de los Tres beneath Mount Fitz Roy
- Moderate-intensity trekking — expect consecutive days of hiking, not a gentle sightseeing pace
- Route crosses between Argentina and Chile
- Choice of private or shared rooms
