Best of Lisbon & The Azores: City & Nature Wonders

Start & end in Lisbon 9 days Up to 14

About this trip

Two very different sides of Portugal in one trip: a few days in Lisbon for history, food and city wandering, then a change of pace on Sao Miguel in the Azores for volcanic lagoons and hot springs.

In Lisbon you get a half-day orientation tour to get your bearings, then time to explore the castle, trams and neighbourhoods on your own, plus a full-day trip out to Sintra, Cascais and Evora and an evening of Fado and dinner in Bairro Alto.

The Azores half is slower and greener - thermal waters, volcanic scenery and local food on an island that feels a world away from the capital.

What you'll do

  • Half-day orientation tour of Lisbon's highlights, including the Castle of Sao Jorge
  • Free time to explore Bairro Alto, Mercado da Ribeira and the city's tram routes
  • Full-day excursion to Sintra, Cascais and Evora
  • Fado show and dinner at a local restaurant in Bairro Alto
  • Soak in hot thermal waters and see volcanic lagoons on Sao Miguel, the Azores
Good to know
  • Partially guided - structured tours are mixed with free time to explore Lisbon on your own
  • Itinerary and days can be adjusted or added to on request
  • Requires a minimum of 2 passengers to run
What travellers actually say

Worth it if you want hassle-free logistics and knowledgeable local guides across Portugal's highlights. Think twice if you need dietary flexibility on day tours or precise itinerary details beforehand.

  • Local guides consistently praised as knowledgeable, personable and genuinely helpful; Pedro in Lisbon specifically singled out.
  • All logistics—flights, transfers, hotels—executed seamlessly; on-time arrivals and well-located accommodation in city and waterfront settings.
  • Itinerary details often don't match what's actually delivered on tours; dietary restrictions rarely accommodated on day tours.
  • Tour Radar customer service responsive pre-booking but less so post-payment; clarify tour length, inclusions and transport details upfront.
