About this trip
This 12-day trip runs the length of Vietnam, starting inland among the limestone karsts and rice fields of Hoa Lu and Tam Coc before heading to the coast at Halong Bay. From there you move south to the old town of Hoi An, then finish with beach time on Phu Quoc island.
It is a mix of culture and coast rather than a straight beach holiday. Expect boat trips through karst scenery, a slower few days exploring Hoi An's village life and food, and then proper time to switch off on Phu Quoc's white sand.
The trip is partially guided, so some days follow a set plan and others give you room to explore on your own.
What you'll do
- Cruise past limestone karsts and explore caves in Halong Bay
- Cycle or boat through the rice fields and grottoes of Tam Coc
- Wander the old town of Hoi An and try local dishes like basil tea
- Relax on Phu Quoc's beaches under the coconut palms
- Scuba dive the coral reefs off Phu Quoc
- Try night squid fishing and visit a pearl farm
- Covers a lot of ground north to south, so travel days between regions are part of the trip
- Partially guided — expect a blend of organised activities and free time
- Suits travellers who want both culture and beach time rather than a pure beach break
Worth it if you value seamless logistics, attentive guides, and beach downtime. Think twice if you need flexibility—the pace feels structured and activities are pre-set.
- Guides Dat and Minah handle logistics obsessively: pre-trip briefings, daily timeline updates, last-minute Phu Quoc bookings sorted.
- Phu Quoc Island is genuinely the highlight—multiple reviewers single out the relaxing time and scenery as trip standout.
- Tour covers a lot of ground fast: Hanoi, Hoa Lu, Halong Bay cruise, Hoi An, then Phu Quoc in 12 days.
- Hotel selection is careful and reliable; company will swap accommodation if you're unhappy, no pushback.
