About this trip
Six days along Peru's southern coast, from Lima through Paracas to the desert oasis of Huacachina, mixing wildlife, sand and one of the country's more baffling mysteries.
In Paracas you take a boat out to the Ballestas Islands, often called the poor man's Galapagos, and visit the coastal National Reserve. Huacachina brings sandboarding and dune buggy rides across the dunes, followed by an optional flight over the Nazca Lines.
It's a short, partially guided run rather than a deep dive into any one place, well suited to travelling with family or in a group over Christmas and New Year.
