About this trip
Fourteen days across Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda, tracking wildlife through some of East Africa's best-known parks before finishing face to face with mountain gorillas.
The route takes in the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater, crosses into Kenya for the Masai Mara, then heads to Uganda for canoeing and gorilla trekking in Bwindi. It's a lot of ground, and a lot of different landscapes, in a fairly short space of time.
Expect early starts, long game drives and one properly physical day when you trek through forest to spend an hour with a gorilla family.
What you'll do
- Track river crossings and big herds on the Serengeti Plains
- Hike the Ngorongoro Crater rim for sunrise
- Watch for lion and cheetah on game drives in the Masai Mara
- Spend an hour with mountain gorillas in Uganda's Bwindi forest
- Canoe on one of Uganda's lakes
- Views of Kilimanjaro along the way
- Covers three countries in 14 days, so travel days are part of the deal
- Gorilla trekking involves a real hike through forest terrain, rated moderate
- Good fit if you want safari and gorilla trekking combined rather than choosing one
