About this trip
Thirteen days through the heart of Patagonia, moving from El Calafate to Ushuaia across the border between Argentina and Chile. Glaciers, granite peaks and open steppe make up most of the scenery, with the pace set by you since this is a self-guided, tailor-made itinerary.
You'll get close to Perito Moreno Glacier by boat, spend time hiking around El Chaltén beneath Mount Fitz Roy, and cross into Chile for Torres del Paine before the long road trip down to the southernmost city in the world.
Because it's private and flexible, departure dates are open and the route can flex around your interests, budget and time — add a Mendoza wine stop, a ranch stay near Buenos Aires or Iguazu Falls if you want to build it into something longer.
What you'll do
- Boat trip out to Perito Moreno Glacier
- Hike the Chaltén mountain range beneath Mount Fitz Roy
- Explore Torres del Paine National Park in Chile
- Road trip across the Patagonian steppe
- Arrive in Ushuaia, the southernmost city in the world
- Self-guided and private — you set the pace and schedule
- Tailor-made itinerary, so extra nights or destinations can be added
- Involves a fair amount of hiking and outdoor time in changeable Patagonian weather
Worth it if you want seamless logistics, brilliant hiking, and genuinely impressive landscapes across Patagonia. Think twice if you dislike long coach days or need flexibility on refunds.
- Guides consistently praised for knowledge, enthusiasm, and professionalism across all regions.
- Logistics and pre-bookings handled seamlessly; airport transfers prompt and transfers generally well-planned throughout.
- Torres del Paine involves brutal back-to-back early starts and long bus days; refund requests denied even when cited as poor planning.
- Park entrance fees and cash requirements in Natales not clearly flagged upfront; bring cash as card acceptance patchy.
