About this trip
Sixteen days across Scotland built around the places and history that inspired the Outlander books - ancient monuments, battlefields, castles and the landscapes behind the stories.
This is a coach tour, so you cover a lot of ground with someone else doing the driving, moving between sites, islands and coastline over two and a half weeks.
Expect a mix of history, folklore and scenery rather than a strict book-by-book itinerary, with room for some lesser-known spots along the way.
What you'll do
- Visit sites tied to Scotland's clan history and famous battlefields
- Explore ancient monuments and standing stones with roots in local folklore
- Travel by coach through Scotland's highlands, coastline and islands
- See castles and locations linked to the Outlander story world
- Hear myths and traditions from the guide as you go
- Fully guided coach tour - good if you'd rather not plan logistics or drive yourself
- Shared rooms, so you'll be paired with another traveller unless you arrange otherwise
- Easy pace, but 16 days is a long tour with a lot of moving between locations
