About this trip
Seven days split between Vienna and Salzburg, with the grand imperial streets of one city giving way to the baroque charm of the other, plus alpine day trips that take you well beyond either.
You start in Vienna, then head out to Hallstatt, the lakeside village that looks almost too neat to be real, before taking the train on to Salzburg. From there, days out cover the Eagle's Nest in the Bavarian Alps and the Berchtesgaden Salt Mine underground.
It's an easy-paced trip built around culture and scenery rather than long hikes or late nights, and each day tour runs separately with its own guide and group, so you'll meet different people as you go.
