About this trip
Four days out of Cairo into the Sahara, ending up somewhere most Egypt trips never reach: Siwa Oasis, a remote pocket of desert known for its springs, ancient sites and distinct Amazigh culture rather than pyramids and cruise boats.
You travel out via El Alamein and the coast at Marsa Matrouh, then spend your time in Siwa itself, moving between temple ruins, spring-fed pools and open desert, with a night under a sky far from any city light.
