About this trip
Ten days from Beijing to Shanghai, taking in the country's biggest icon and a few places most visitors rush past. You camp overnight on the Great Wall itself, rather than just ticking off a viewpoint, and pick up a bit of Mandarin along the way.
Between the cities there's a proper mix of pace: a sail across West Lake to its islands, a hike up Jiuyao Mountain for the sunset, and time in both Beijing and Shanghai to see how different the two feel.
A local Adventure Leader runs the whole thing, so the logistics of a fast-moving China trip are handled while you focus on the places.
