About this trip
A week through three ex-Yugoslav countries, tracing a route between Bosnia's inland cities and the Adriatic coast. You get a mix of Ottoman-era streets, Habsburg history and Venetian coastal towns without long days on the road.
The Bosnian leg covers Sarajevo, Mostar and the Herzegovina region, before you head to the coast for Dubrovnik and on into the Bay of Kotor. Roughly half the trip is spent along the Adriatic, taking in UNESCO-listed old towns.
Distances between stops are short, so this runs at an easy pace rather than a packed one, with the start and finish flexible between Sarajevo, Kotor or Dubrovnik.
What you'll do
- Explore Sarajevo's old town and its layered Ottoman and Habsburg history
- Walk Mostar's Old Bridge and the Herzegovina countryside around it

- Flexible start and finish points from Sarajevo, Kotor or Dubrovnik
- Suits those wanting a mix of city history and Adriatic coastline rather than a beach-focused trip
