About this trip
Nine days across Kenya and Uganda that takes in some of East Africa's best-known wildlife spots, from the Rift Valley lakes to the forests where mountain gorillas live.
You move between Lake Nakuru, Amboseli and the Masai Mara before crossing into Uganda for gorilla trekking, with a stop on the River Nile along the way.
It's a wildlife-focused route rather than a slow one — plenty of ground covered, with each stop built around a specific animal encounter.
What you'll do
- Look for rhinos and flamingos at Lake Nakuru
- Watch elephant herds in Amboseli, often with Kilimanjaro in view
- See the wildebeest migration in the Masai Mara (season dependent)
- Trek to see mountain gorillas in Uganda
- Spend time on the River Nile
- Covers two countries in nine days, so travel days between parks are part of the deal
- Gorilla trekking involves hiking at altitude and requires a reasonable level of fitness
- Wildebeest migration timing depends on when you travel, not guaranteed on every departure
