About this trip
Seven days split between Madrid and Barcelona, with a high-speed train linking the two. You get the formal grandeur of the capital first, then the looser, seaside energy of Catalonia.
Days are built around guided city tours — royal palaces and grand plazas in Madrid, Gaudí's architecture and the Mediterranean waterfront in Barcelona — with room left for you to explore on your own.
Because it's partially guided, you'll have a different guide and a different group each day, so the people around you change as you move through the trip.
What you'll do
- Explore Madrid's royal palaces and historic plazas
- Travel between cities on Spain's high-speed rail
- See Gaudí's architecture in Barcelona
- Wander Barcelona's Mediterranean waterfront
- Take in the art, history and culture of both cities
- Partially guided — each day's tour comes with a different guide and group, run as a separate tour
- Easy pace, suited to families and those who prefer city sightseeing over strenuous activity
