About this trip
Malaysia splits neatly into two very different halves, and this trip covers both. You start in Borneo, tracking orangutans and pygmy elephants through jungle and along its rivers, then cross to the peninsula for a run through cities steeped in colonial history, religion and modern life.
The pace shifts from wildlife-watching in the rainforest to wandering the streets of Kuala Lumpur, Malacca and Georgetown, each with its own mix of cultures and architecture. It ends on Langkawi, giving you a stretch of beach time after two weeks of movement.
