About this trip
Ten days across Turkey that mix history, coast and a landscape unlike anywhere else — starting in Istanbul, working down the west coast to ancient ruins and a gulet cruise, then finishing in Cappadocia.
You'll spend time on foot exploring Istanbul, Troy, Pergamum and Ephesus, then slow down for three days on a traditional wooden gulet along the Mediterranean before heading inland to Cappadocia's rock formations.
Group travel throughout, with shared rooms and a guide handling logistics, so the pace is easy and you can focus on what you're seeing rather than the planning.
What you'll do
- Explore Istanbul's old city
- Walk the ruins of Troy and Pergamum
- Sail a 3-day gulet cruise on the Mediterranean
- Soak in the thermal terraces of Pamukkale
- Wander the ancient city of Ephesus
- See the rock landscapes of Cappadocia
- Fully guided group tour with shared rooms
- Easy pace, suited to those who want the sights covered without self-planning
- Covers a lot of ground — coast, ruins and Cappadocia all in one trip
Worth it if you're flexible with accommodation standards and hope for an exceptional guide. Think twice if you need reliable air conditioning or prefer smaller, intimate groups.
- The 3-day gulet cruise is genuinely the highlight; small onboard groups foster real friendships.
- Guide quality varies wildly between tours; one was rude with poor historical info, others brilliant.
- Cabin air conditioning doesn't work reliably; below-deck bunks become unbearable above 40°C.
- Long bus days (8 hours) and service station meals aren't authentic Turkish; overall group size hits 41.
