About this trip
This trip splits into two very different halves: a slow cruise through the Kerala backwaters, then a road trip round India's Golden Triangle to see the Taj Mahal.
You spend your first days aboard a houseboat with your own onboard guide and chef, cruising Vembanad Lake by day and anchoring at quiet spots each night. Meals are cooked from whatever's been picked up that day at local markets, including fish caught fresh from the backwaters.
From there you head north to Delhi, Agra and Jaipur, travelling by road between the three and taking in the history and culture that give this route its reputation as India's classic circuit.
