About this trip
Fifteen days across India and Nepal, with a private English-speaking driver and air-conditioned vehicle throughout, plus one flight from Kathmandu to Delhi to link the two countries.
You move between the big set pieces — the Taj Mahal, Jaipur's Pink City, the ghats of Varanasi — and then on to Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Chitwan National Park in Nepal, taking in temples, palaces and a fair bit of Himalayan scenery along the way.
It is a fully guided, private trip, so the group is just your own, and the itinerary covers a lot of ground — from riverside sunrise boat rides to mountain flights and jungle safaris.
What you'll do
- See the Taj Mahal at Agra
- Take a morning and evening boat ride on the Ganges in Varanasi
- Ride a rickshaw through Old Delhi
- Go on safari in Chitwan National Park looking for one-horned rhinos
- Visit the UNESCO sites of Kathmandu, Patan and Bhaktapur
- Try paragliding or a mountain flight in Pokhara, with views toward Everest
- A private, fully guided tour rather than a group departure, suited to families or those wanting their own pace within a set itinerary
- Covers two countries in 15 days, so expect a good amount of travel and changing bases
- Includes some higher-energy extras like paragliding and mountain flights alongside the sightseeing
Worth it if you want immersive private travel with exceptional drivers and don't mind hidden costs. Think twice if you expect included admissions or prefer group socialising.
- Drivers like Vivek, Sunil, and Prakesh are genuinely exceptional—patient, knowledgeable, safe in chaotic traffic, and treat you as people not passengers.
- Admissions, meals beyond breakfast, and local guides cost extra. Budget roughly $500 USD, not the $200 stated. Marketing understates true expenses.
- First Delhi hotel was poor—no hot water, bad smells, unwelcoming breakfast area. Check accommodation standards before arrival.
- Nepal roads are slow; a 200km stretch took 7 hours. Don't judge travel times by Western driving expectations.
