About this trip
This is a long, private tour that runs from the historic north down to the beaches and backwaters of the south, travelling largely by train. It opens in Delhi and Agra before working through Rajasthan's royal cities, then shifts pace entirely with time in Goa, Karnataka and Kerala.
The first half is heritage-heavy — forts, palaces and the Taj Mahal — tracing the old Rajputana kingdoms through Jaipur, Udaipur and Bundi. The second half slows right down, with beach time in Goa and a stay on Kerala's backwaters to close things out.
At 26 days it covers a huge amount of India, so expect real variety: dense history, then coastline, then a different kind of south Indian pace altogether.
