About this trip
Nine days covering four of Turkey's biggest draws — Istanbul, Ephesus, Pamukkale and Cappadocia — starting and ending in Istanbul. It moves at a fair clip, mixing a flight, a long drive and plenty of ground covered, so this suits you if you want the highlights reel rather than a slow deep-dive into one region.
You start with Istanbul's Old City and a Bosphorus cruise, then fly to Kusadasi for Ephesus and the white travertine terraces of Pamukkale. From there it's an overland drive via Konya to Cappadocia, where you stay in a cave hotel before flying back to Istanbul to finish.
What you'll do
- Explore Istanbul's Old City
- Cruise the Bosphorus
- Visit the ancient city of Ephesus
- See the white terraces of Pamukkale
- Drive through Konya en route to Cappadocia
- Stay in a cave hotel and see the fairy chimneys of Cappadocia
- Fast-paced — includes an internal flight, a long overland drive and several region changes in nine days
- Good fit if you want a broad first look at Turkey's main sights rather than time to linger in one place
Worth it if you're flexible about group composition and don't need hand-holding. Think twice if you require a fixed group, detailed pre-trip briefing, or prefer leisurely pacing.
- Guides like Mert and Azer are genuinely excellent: knowledgeable, humorous, and deeply organised throughout.
- No mandatory briefing at start; you'll miss booking deadlines (balloon rides) and etiquette guidance if you're not proactive.
- Group composition shifts between segments; you won't travel with the same people the whole trip despite the tour name.
- Internal flight baggage allowances differ from international rates; budget carriers may charge excess fees not flagged upfront.
