Passage In India : Delhi | Agra | Jaipur | Jodhpur | Udaipur | Aurangabad | Mumbai

New Delhi → Mumbai 11 days Up to 14

About this trip

This 11-day route runs from Delhi through the heart of Rajasthan before crossing into Maharashtra, taking in some of India's most recognisable sights alongside quieter, less obvious ones. You move through Agra, Jaipur, Jodhpur and Udaipur, each with its own character, then finish with Aurangabad's cave temples and the pace of Mumbai.

It's a classic north-to-west India route: forts, palaces and desert cities giving way to the rock-cut temples of Ellora and Ajanta, then the very different energy of Mumbai's streets and seafront.

Expect a fair amount of ground covered, with hotels, transport and guides arranged throughout so the focus stays on what you're seeing rather than logistics.

What you'll do

  • See the Taj Mahal at Agra and the abandoned city of Fatehpur Sikri
  • Explore Amer Fort above Jaipur, the pink city
  • Wander the blue streets of Jodhpur
  • Visit the palaces of Udaipur's Maharajas
  • Tour the rock-cut cave temples of Ellora and Ajanta
  • End in Mumbai, taking in the Gateway of India and Marine Drive
Good to know
  • Covers a lot of distance across Rajasthan and Maharashtra, so travel days are part of the deal
  • Departs even with a single traveller
  • Suits those wanting a structured overview of major historical sights rather than slow travel in one place
