About this trip
Five days across Central Vietnam's three big draws: Da Nang's coastline, Hoi An's old town and Hue's imperial past. It's a compact route that mixes city time with history and a bit of countryside.
You'll walk the lantern-lit streets of Hoi An, take in the Nguyen Dynasty's former capital in Hue, and head up into the hills for the Golden Bridge and Marble Mountains. There's a focus on local food, craft and community along the way rather than just sightseeing.
Easy-paced and suited to families or groups wanting a first proper look at Central Vietnam without constant moving around.
What you'll do
- Wander the old town of Hoi An by lantern light
- Tour Hue Imperial City, the former seat of the Nguyen Dynasty and a UNESCO World Heritage Site
- Ride up to Ba Na Hills and cross the Golden Bridge
- Explore the limestone caves and pagodas of the Marble Mountains
- Try regional dishes and meet local craftspeople along the way
- Easy pace, suitable for families
- Partially guided, so some parts of the trip you'll do independently
Worth it if you want excellent guides, cooking classes, and Hue/Monkey Mountain highlights. Think twice if you're a solo traveller expecting a stable group—you'll be shuffled between different groups daily.
- Cooking classes with Jesse consistently praised for historical context, vegan adaptations, and exceptional egg coffee.
- Hannah's organisation and WhatsApp responsiveness stand out; handles last-minute changes seamlessly and communicates proactively.
- Solo travellers: marketed as group bonding but you join different groups daily with no guarantee of English speakers.
- Bà Na Hills day reportedly underwhelming; Monkey Mountain and Hue citadel are genuine highlights worth doing.
