About this trip
Seven days on an e-bike, riding from Saigon up to the hill town of Dalat before dropping down through coastal roads to Hoi An.
The route mixes highland climbs with easier coastal stretches, taking you through villages and past everyday Vietnamese life rather than just tourist stops. Expect plenty of stops to eat well and talk to locals along the way.
It ends in Hoi An, with its old town and UNESCO-listed heritage, giving you a proper contrast to the rural riding that came before it.
What you'll do
- Ride up to Dalat, Vietnam's hill-station honeymoon town
- Cycle through rural villages and meet local people along the route
- Coastal riding down from the highlands towards the central coast
- Sample regional food stops throughout the journey
- Finish in the old town of Hoi An, a UNESCO World Heritage site
- E-bikes are used throughout, which keeps the pace manageable even on hillier sections
- Rated easy, so it suits riders without serious cycling experience
Worth it if you're moderately fit, want immersive rural Vietnam with a guide who genuinely knows the history, and value logistics over budget dining. Think twice if you're a basic cyclist—Day 2's hills are legit steep.
- Guide Tung is genuinely exceptional: adjusts routes for weather, knows Vietnam's history deeply, and the whole team treat you like humans, not customers.
- Accommodation is consistently 4–5 star; support van lets you skip traffic or rest midday without guilt; e-bike option levels the playing field for mixed fitness.
- Day 2's hilly sections are genuinely challenging; included restaurant picks were underwhelming, though company reimbursed when you sourced your own dinners.
- Bike maintenance and support van condition varied; one reviewer flagged brake issues and gear problems that home bikes wouldn't have.
