About this trip
Fourteen days covering Vietnam from top to bottom, mixing old cities, limestone bays, ancient ruins and a final stretch of beach time. You start in the north and work your way south, so the pace shifts from history and cityscapes to countryside, then to delta life and finally to doing nothing much at all on Phu Quoc.
Hanoi, Hoi An and Ho Chi Minh City give you the cultural and urban side, with Ha Long Bay and Ninh Binh adding the classic karst scenery. The Mekong Delta slows things down before Phu Quoc closes the trip out with a proper beach break.
What you'll do
- Explore Hanoi's old quarter and local history
- Cruise the limestone karsts of Ha Long Bay
- Cycle or boat through the countryside of Ninh Binh
- Wander the lantern-lit streets of Hoi An and the ruins of My Son
- Take a boat trip through the Mekong Delta
- Finish with beach time on Phu Quoc
- Covers a lot of ground from north to south, so expect regular travel days
- Partially guided, so you'll have some time to explore independently
- Suits families and groups looking for an easy-paced overview of Vietnam
Worth it if you want a well-paced, hassle-free 14-day overview of north and south Vietnam with quality hotels and knowledgeable guides. Think twice if you're budget-conscious about 4-star upgrades or sensitive to long driving days.
- Itinerary strikes a rare balance: diverse highlights covered without rushing, plus genuine free time for cycling Ninh Binh or cooking classes in Hoi An.
- Logistics genuinely seamless—flights timed sensibly, transfers coordinated well, hotels consistently good, especially Hoi An property. Team handles the admin so you don't.
- 4-star hotel upgrades cost significantly more per person than standard; Asia pricing is per room, so upgrades hit harder than brochures suggest.
- Long driving days and chaotic city traffic are real, especially near Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, but scenery and cultural payoff justify the slog.
