About this trip
A private three-day loop out of Bucharest into Transylvania, a region shaped by centuries of Romanian, Hungarian and German history side by side.
You'll take in fortified churches built to double as defence and worship, the medieval streets of Sighisoara, and sights on the UNESCO tentative list such as Alba Iulia citadel and Sibiu's old town, alongside other castles and fortresses along the way.
The driving itself is part of it — roads through the Carpathians with their forests and peaks, then the rolling green hills and villages of the Transylvanian countryside. Food is a mix of Romanian, Hungarian and German traditions, and there's time built in to sit down and try it properly.
